How leaders and teams work with Lacuna Afore

Innovation becomes a natural extension of how the team thinks and works

Lacuna Afore engagements are intentionally designed executive experiences focused on the conditions that come before strategy.

Each engagement applies the same core framework, shaped to the scale and context of the work, whether with a leadership team, an individual executive, or through continued integration over time.

  • This is the core Lacuna Afore engagement.

    Designed for a small group of senior leaders within the same organization, this experience works with both individual and collective leadership conditions. The focus is on how the team operates under pressure, urgency, and complexity, and what must shift for insight, alignment, and meaningful innovation to emerge.

    Over a three-month period, the engagement includes:

    • Individual leadership work with each executive

    • Direct work with leadership team dynamics

    • A culminating in-person retreat designed to deepen integration and catalyze insight

    The in-person experience is held in a carefully selected, restorative environment. Time, space, and setting are intentionally designed to support presence, reflection, and embodied integration, allowing leaders to step out of urgency and reconnect to clarity and discernment.

    All work is grounded in the organization’s real challenges, priorities, and strategic questions.

    This engagement is well suited for leadership teams sensing that:

    • Strategy feels harder than it should

    • Innovation has stalled or become performative

    • Urgency has overtaken clarity

    • Something essential is missing, but difficult to name

  • A private, one-on-one engagement for senior leaders.

    This engagement applies the Lacuna Afore framework at the individual level. It is designed for executives carrying significant responsibility or navigating inflection points, where the quality of thinking and decision-making matters most.

    The work focuses on recalibrating how the leader is operating, restoring access to clarity, creative intelligence, and discernment under pressure.

    The engagement may include:

    • One-on-one, somatic-informed leadership work

    • Personalized integration within the leader’s real operating environment

    • An optional curated solo-retreat experience for deeper immersion

  • Ongoing support following completion of a Lacuna Afore engagement.

    Transformation requires integration.

    This engagement supports leaders and teams following completion of a Lacuna Afore engagement, reinforcing new operating patterns and restoring space when urgency reasserts itself.

    Support may include:

    • Ongoing individual executive sessions

    • Periodic leadership team check-ins

    • Annual or semi-annual retreats or offsites

    • The intention is not to sustain a program, but to support a way of operating over time.

Intentional Design

Each Lacuna Afore engagement is deliberately shaped in response to the leaders, context, and challenges at hand. While the framework remains consistent, the work is held with care and precision in service of the conditions required for real insight and innovation to emerge.

Engagements are supported by a small, dedicated team who ensure each experience unfolds with rigor, from operational coordination to in-person logistics.

The Strategic Pause

An often overlooked, but critical step in the formation of effective strategy and innovation is the Strategic Pause. Creating the space for capacity and coherence before direction is set.  Woven into our framework, ensuring decisions emerge from alignment, not pressure.
